A letter from our Recruitment Chair, Brittany Melvin.
Dear Potential New Member,
First I would like to congratulate you on your acceptance into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! The Greek community offers great opportunities for you to participate in service and educational activities while forming friendships and "finding your own place" at Carolina. Formal Recruitment is an exciting, memorable process and we can't wait to meet you all. I wish you all the best throughout the entire recruitment period!
What do we look for in a new member at Alpha Chi? Here are just a few things we consider:
Our members are active in the sorority, and in the wider world. The Epsilon Chi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega provides intentional opportunities for new members to build enduring friendships, through participation in a wide variety of activities. A member can lead or follow ~ and she may change her role, as her interests change. What's important at the outset, is that she is excited about the prospect of participating.
In addition, our members agree that academic interest and achievement are important qualities in a sister and a prospective new member. Our many #1, #2 and #3 Highest Panhellenic GPA awards are proof that our classes and grades are important, as is our recent complete renovation of the chapter house study spaces. We are excited when a terrific candidate for membership is committed to her classwork.
Finally, Alpha Chi Omega values a person's integrity, as well as the manner in which she carries herself. Our members are socially conscious, financially responsible, and loyal -- both to their friends, and to the sorority.
In Alpha Chi Omega, we believe...
That our individual members are priceless.
That we provide for them the very best in education and orientation to college life.
That our programs, and the students who execute them, are of superior caliber.
That our many awards and accomplishments reflect our commitment to excellence.
The Epsilon Chi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega is extremely excited about Recruitment 2010. We look forward to seeing you in just a few weeks!
