We are pleased to show you our home!
Front Porch:

Welcome to the front porch of Alpha Chi Omega. Charming rocking chairs and a porch swing are perfect for reading on a nice sunny day or catching up with friends during breaks from class. Non-resident sisters are invited to come hang out, study and simply visit, any time. As you move into the house, note that wireless internet is available throughout. In-house residents also enjoy full laundry, assigned parking spaces, three cable TV's (including the 16-foot projector which is wired to TWC) with DVR, and a laser printer for resident use.
Piano Room:

Sisters like to meet on the comfy couches in the Piano Room before dinner. Recently redecorated, it features a Baby Grand Piano, as well as new couches, carpeting and wallpaper. Alumnae will be pleased to see that while the antique (and beloved) tables and chairs remain, this lovely and comfortable room is no longer a stuffy "Formal Parlor."

Composite Room:
A quiet room for reserved for studying and meetings, the Composite Room has our framed chapter composite picture above the fireplace. The composite room was also recently redecorated with new couches, carpeting and wallpaper.
This is where you'll see half a dozen of us curled up and buried in our books, on weeknights. Between this room and the formal parlor, there is desk seating for six, but you'll find us sprawled on the sofas too! See below for the other great study space, our new study room.

Dining Room:
Sisters who live in the house eat all their meals in the black-and-white checkerboard tiled dining room, while out-of-house sisters enjoy 6 or 9 meals a week. We love our waiters and our Professional Chef Mark and the delighful food they cook for us.

In the summer of 2008, the chapter installed a ceiling-mounted projector, motorized screen and full audio system. This allows for projection of computer output, DVD, TV and Cable. This is great for meetings, but it's also super for watching those televised Tarheel games!
In the summer of 2009, the dining room floor was replaced by the AXO National Housing Corporation, which owns our house and property. No worries to our alumnae, it's still a black and white checkerboard pattern! We work hard to keep a good relationship with the NHC, and make our own smaller improvements to the house whenever financially possible.
The adjacent Bay Window area is also important -- this is where you'll see us snapping photos before socials and parties! We do study hard, but we play hard too - with a full schedule of mixers, parties, date functions, and sisters-only events, which we plan before each semester begins! And we also host two Parents' Weekends and one Alumnae Weekend per year.
Downstairs TV Room:
This TV room is where everyone seems to congregate. Be it watching the latest episode of a favorite TV show or cramming in to cheer on the Tarheels during basketball season, you'll always find a friendly face here. Alpha Chi has digital cable with movie channels as well as DVR, so studying for that big test won't get in the way of you watching your favorite show. In the summer of 2009, the TV room sofa and two large ottomans were recovered, and the room received an overall facelift.
Study Room:
We can't tell you how excited we are about our new study room. It's quiet, comfortable, and best of all, hidden away so that despite living in a house with 35 others, we can really get some work done! Our alumnae had to ask, "so where is the room in this photo, in the house?" because it's such a huge transformation. We are grateful to our National Housing Corp for funding this great space, which has generous study space for seven or so, and actual seating for twelve.
As you can see from this and other references, having our house owned nationally is a huge benefit for us. While we do pay housing fees as part of our dues to this national organization, that payment is flat fee per year, regardless of what repairs or upgrades took place. And we've done quite a bit of work recently to make sure that our house is in top shape, and is the most desirable living space for our members. In fact, we always assign housing by a points system that considers chapter involvement, academics, officer standing and other factors. And there is always a waitlist to move in, should someone need to refuse their earned space.
Patio and Side Yard:
One things we have found to be true is that while our house is full of southern graciousness and charm, it's not just a house - simple traffic has made us realize that we need well made, properly chosen furnishings and amenities that may in some cases be commercial grade. That's the case for our new patio furniture, which is a welcome addition to our side yard.

We hope that you have enjoyed this peek into our home. If you want to see the annex property we purchased in 2006, click over to History, and scroll down to the local history section.
As a final image, we have a surprise shot from a (rare) snow day in Chapel Hill. Our house has so many nice trees, that capturing a photo of the structure can be tricky - but in the February snow, we were able to snap a more accurate photo.
